Two dances performed by our Little Dancers

Musical theatre/West African dance fusion by Mama Ayo of Ayodele Drum & Dance
Additional selections by various levels and the HPSD Summer Company

Each attendee requires a ticket. Suggested price is $15, but please choose the amount that works best for you from the available options in the drop down. If you are able, paying additional helps offset the cost of a ticket for another family, and helps cover the expenses of producing this event at a professional theater.

HPSD's Summer Intensive

July 6-31, 2026

AGE		8-18 years (as of September 1, 2026)
PREREQUISITE		Minimum 1 year of Modern 1, Jazz 1, or Ballet 1. Also available to non-HPSD dancers aged 8-11 with 2 years minimum of dance training; intermediate/advanced non-HPSD dancers 12 & up with 4+ years of dance training or recommendation from current instructor.
PRICING		Full Four Week Program: $2400 Per Week: $650 Students may only attend week 4 if they are also enrolled in at least one other week, 1-3.

Formerly the Pre-Professional & Young Dancer Intensives, now one program with graduated age/skill groups.

Designed for motivated dancers ages 8–18, this four-week intensive fosters growth in technique, artistry, and confidence. Dancers train in age and experience-based groups to refine their technique in ballet, contemporary, jazz, breaking, studio hip hop, yoga, musical theater, and West African dance, while working toward a culminating performance on Friday, July 31st at 6pm.

Advanced dancers will have the opportunity to work with guest faculty from companies and institutions around the Chicago Land Area.

Students will be evaluated the morning of their first week of attendance in a class that corresponds to their age range. Students will then be assigned to one of three level groups - A, B, or C. Students will take all weekly classes with their assigned group.

We recommend bringing a water bottle, yoga mat, hand towel, pen & paper, snacks, and lunch. Students under 12 must eat lunch at the studios; students 12-17 must have written parent/guardian permission to leave the building for lunch.

Weekly enrollment is available. Attendance during week four and at least one other week required for participation in HPSD's Summer Showcase performance. (Some excused absences permitted.)

Payment Policies Disregard the “charge due date” in your enrollment email and account as these are automatically system generated and do not reflect the actual due date of payments. There will be no late fees applied. Enroll before Jun 1: Free registration; make payments as low as $20.00 Session 1 classes full tuition due Jun 1; Session 2 classes due Jul 1. Enroll after Jun 1: Payment due in full upon registration. Class Cancellation Policy Each class dropped prior to their start date will incur a $20 drop fee, which will be charged at the time of the drop if no previous payment has been made towards the class(es). Registration, Payment, and Cancellation
Non-Refundable Deposit Due at Registration: $50 for Pointe Foundations, Choreography, Summer Company, Adult Intensive, Ballet Bootcamp $75 for HPSD Intensive and Little Dancer Summer Camp Payment Schedule: Families can choose to pay the amount in full or in monthly installments. In either case, tuition will be billed on the first of the month. Example: Jack and Jill register for all 4 weeks of the Young Dancer Intensive on Mar 20 and elect monthly payments. They pay $150 nonreundable deposit at registration. Their remaining balance ($4,650) is split evenly to bill on Apr, May, Jun, and Jul 1. Installments are manually adjusted by HPSD staff and will appear on your account within one week of enrollment. Summer Cancellation Policy: At the time of the drop request, 25% of tuition already paid will be retained as a drop fee as this covers initial program costs, not including the nonrefundable deposit. The remaining 75% of tuition paid will be put on file for the family as class credit that can be used towards future enrollment. If a family has past due payments at the time of the drop request, the payments will be modified to bill at 25% of their original value. Refunds may be issued for emergencies or extenuating circumstances at the discretion of HPSD staff. All drop requests must be submitted in writing to admin@hydeparkdance.org.
