Hyde Park School of Dance (HPSD) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) dance school located in the neighborhood of Hyde Park on the South Side of Chicago.
We offer instruction and performance opportunities for more than 500 children and adults ages 18 months and up. Our programs operate year-round, with more than 80 hours of weekly instruction, frequent public performances, and a vibrant community outreach program.

Executive Director Position
Executive Director Search
The Executive Director provides hands-on leadership for Hyde Park School of Dance and has ultimate responsibility for the financial and operating stability of the company, in support of the Artistic Director whose focus is on artistic excellence. The successful candidate will be able to devise and execute a fundraising strategy with campaigns to optimize revenues and grow the budget to ensure the HPSD is capable of fully achieving its mission.
The Executive Director is responsible for developing and maintaining external relationships with donors and with other organizations; managing finances, business staff, and operations; supporting the Board of Directors; and building its profile and its resources to advance its artistic mission. The position reports to the Board of Directors and works closely with the Artistic Director who is responsible for the creation and oversight of HPSD’s instructional curriculum and performance programming.
This role provides direction for and management oversight of all administration of the school and the staff, including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting, human resources, board relations, fundraising, communications and marketing, planning and coordination of performances and events, facilities management, and volunteer management. The Executive Director supervises a team including the Director of Finance, Director of Operations, Director of Community Engagement, and Communications Manager, and works in collaboration with the Artistic Director to manage the needs of the creative team.

Currently Open Positions:
Seeking energetic dance instructors to lead school-based dance classes for students in grades K-8. Applicants must have a background in dance (any style) and previous teaching experience. You will receive training on our curriculum. Hours/Times: 2-8 hours weekly; Mon-Friday between 2-6pm Applicant must be willing to travel to school locations, especially on the South Side.
