Born and raised in Chicago, Asmina Turner began her West African dance training at two years old with Alyo Children’s Dance Theatre and Minianka African Dance. She now serves as a company member for Ayodele Drum & Dance, Muntu Dance Theatre, and Najwa Dance Corp. Alongside her performance work, she has taught dance at Red Clay Dance Center and currently teaches across Chicago Public Schools to share her heritage and inspire the next generation through movement.
