Camille Brittnum
Camille considers dance her greatest outlet for self-expression and true fulfillment. She began dancing in 5th grade through Mayfair Academy. She participated early on in the Alvin Ailey dance camp, from which she received a scholarship to attend classes at Joel Hall Dancers & Studio. Camille has also participated in Gallery 37, through which she was selected as a member of the Strobel Step-Up program at Joffrey Ballet. She was a member of the hip hop dance team at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, her alma mater, and has taught hip hop through FieldCrest Performing Arts.
Since that time, Camille has continued her training at Joel Hall and Deeply Rooted, and has furthered her scope of instruction in the arenas of fitness and bodily movement by becoming a certified yoga instructor.
Camille joined Hyde Park School of Dance's Pre-Ballet faculty in 2016 after undergoing on-on-one instructor training under HPSD's Artistic Director August Tye. She shares her passion for the arts enthusiastically, and strives to provide students with the tools they'll need to experience the deep joy and fulfillment that dance can bring.
