Hyde Park School of Dance is excited to introduce Mariana Olga Cisneros Bravo, our new Volunteers and Events Coordinator!
Mariana comes to us from Chicago Scholars where she managed a cohort of first-generation/low income college students in their wellness program and coordinated events for the organization.
Prior to her time at Chicago Scholars, Mariana was a volunteer coordinator for an after school program in Pomona, CA, where she designed and lead curriculum on non-academic topics such as body image, social justice, and goal-setting.
Mariana recalls her time dancing as a young child and remembers fondly the community that she became a part of through her dance school.
As Mariana begins working towards her Masters in Social Work this fall at the University of Chicago, she is looking forward to applying all she has learned through her involvement in the non-profit sector, her background in working with students and their parents, her fond memories of being a young dance student herself, and her experience as a volunteer coordinator to her new position here at Hyde Park School of Dance, an organization that shares her personal values and commitment to wellness education, diversity, and a strong sense of community.
